Strolling through the beautiful city, popping in and out of the many unique boutiques and enjoying everything that Toronto has to offer. City life at it’s finest in Canada. Shopping, walking, and sightseeing works up the need for some serious caffeine, stat. I’m talking as a pretty major caffeine addict who enjoys visiting cafes all over the world, Toronto has seriously upped its café game and moved away from the well-known chains such as Starbucks and Second Cup.
Since living in Australia for a couple years, finding a coffee that exceeds my now extremely high expectations of what a coffee should taste like is tough, sometimes heartbreaking, but that’s just my caffeine addiction being dramatic.
I was recently in Toronto visiting my sister and had the chance to check out a few Café’s that really impressed me, and satisfied the coffee monster within!
What I ordered: Latte and Vanilla Latte
Location: 215 Spadina Avenue Suite 102
Hands down the best latte I have had in a long time, maybe even ever. Cannot rave enough about this place or the coffee, although I did try to anyone who would listen. Walking in I was instantly impressed with the industrial chic looking décor and friendly service. There are a few Dark Horse Espresso Bar locations around Toronto that I HIGHLY recommend checking out if you are in the area! They offer espresso, cold brews, fresh juices, and baked goods.
What I ordered: Iced Coffee and Vanilla Latte
Location: 191 Baldwin Street
Right smack in the centre of downtown Toronto, this place is the perfect coffee hub. With a large, eclectic back patio complete with graffiti for those sunny city days, and a cozy feel inside with plenty of books and a fireplace, it was hard not to love this café upon arrival. Aside from how cool this place is, the coffee also lived up to all hype this place gets, 100%. Rich tasting coffee made with love and served with impeccable service, this place is a complete success! Jimmy’s Coffee now has 3 locations around Toronto, put this on your list!!!
What I ordered: Nutella Latte and Vanilla Latte
Location: 346 Front Street West
Are you seeing a trend with the Lattes yet? When I am on holidays I always treat myself to this delicious drink! The Coffee Bar Inc. offers an impressive selection of coffee beans, drinks, juices, and food. It has a real Canadian vibe inside with signed sports jerseys and wood interior, perfect for the close location to the Rogers Centre. The barista working was very busy and still handled customers with competence and a big smile; that kind of employee is hard to come by. Before heading to a jays game, pop in here for a coffee to start the day right!
