Cute little bars popping up in the many trendy downtown neighborhoods make the Toronto Bar Scene impressive. Summertime in this city calls for patio drinks and bar hopping, and Toronto has quite the selection of patios. Firstly, it definitely depends on which neighborhood you are in and how far you want to travel. The places below are all in the downtown area – Ossington, Queen West, Dundas West areas. Whether you’re from the Toronto area and looking for some places to try or travelling to Toronto, here are a few of the restaurants/bars I’ve been to recently that are well worth a mention:
1. Pray Tell
I sat at the bar with my sister and brother in-law and had the most enjoyable evening here. The bartender was amazing, very knowledgeable, our craft cocktails (ALL OF THEM) were delicious, and our charcuterie plate was a great snack to split. Located in Ossington, this place is an absolute must. It’s a small venue with cute décor, including lots of plants which keeps the vibe cozy and inviting.

2. Clock Bar
A hidden speakeasy cocktail bar located in the heart of downtown Toronto. Quite possibly the best gin cocktail I’ve ever had was here! The music, atmosphere, décor, and underground location make this place a gem. Perfect spot for drinks with the girls or a date night.
Location: 488 Wellington Street W, Toronto

3. Tequila Bookworm
I love this place. They play old-school hip hop, the service is casual and friendly. It’s a craft beer restaurant/bar, they know their selection and help you choose the right beer – the list can be overwhelming. Bonus, they have a great upstairs patio for the summer and serve food late if you need a midnight snack!
Location: 512 Queen Street W, Toronto

A trendy spot in Dundas West serving great cocktails and local beers. Named after the surf spot ‘Montauk’ located in New York, this place a good choice of venue if you’re in the mood for a well-made beverage and an intimate setting.
Location: 765 Dundas Street W, Toronto

5. Bovine Sex Club
Tiki Bar, club, and live music. Since opening in the 90’s, this bar’s claim to fame is the live music. Located in Queen West, this place is artsy with graffiti covered walls, and a rooftop Tiki bar for the summer. It’s one of Toronto’s most well-known clubs and is definitely worth the visit.
