Some days are harder than others when it comes to your workout regime. Lacking motivation for whatever reason happens to the best of us. Here are 7 ways to motivate yourself on those days when you desperately need it:
M O T I V A T I O N
1. Change it up
Constant change in your workouts not only keeps your mind interested, it makes a HUGE difference with your results. Changing your exercises helps make each workout your best! Need some inspiration? Attend a group fitness class and mingle with some like-minded people to remind yourself how much you love the grind!
2. Stay positive
Maybe you fell off track a bit this week with your healthy eating, workout schedule, or sleep… what’s done is DONE. Do not beat yourself up over it, move on and focus on what you can change for the future. A positive mind is your best weapon.
3. Have an awesome playlist
Having some kickass tunes to get your mind and body pumped for a workout = MUST! One of the best parts of working out is zoning the world out with some music that makes you feel unstoppable!
4. Get outside
Some days the gym feels like punishment. Instead of dragging yourself to the gym, resulting in a bad workout because your heart really isn’t in it – go outside! Do an outdoor circuit, a hike, bike ride, run – anything! Get outside and get active, you’ll be happy you did!
5. Workout first thing in the morning
Before you have time to talk yourself out of working out with the million other things on the to-do list – wake up and hit the gym, perfect start to the day! Before the day’s stresses get in the way of your mood, when energy levels are high, this really is the best time for a great workout.
6. Set goals
Setting goals helps to track your progress; see what is working for you and what needs to be changed. Daily, short term, and long term goals to stay on track and accomplish what YOU are working towards is very important. Remember, write your goals down. Seeing a goal on paper holds you accountable, not to mention mentally prepares you to CRUSH IT!!!!
7. Remember it’s a process
Make working out part of your daily routine. Be patient with your body, results do not happen overnight. There really is no better motivation than results that YOU accomplished!
And remember, NEVER GIVE UP!
“You dream. You plan. You reach. There will be obstacles. There will be doubters. There will be mistakes. But with hard work, with belief, with confidence and trust in yourself and those around you, there are no limits.”
-Michael Phelps, swimmer & Olympic gold medalist-
