Iceland is one of those places that leaves you speechless. It makes you feel as if you were in a movie, a blue-and-white-themed movie, which allows you to open your mind and be amazed by the beautiful and diverse world we live in.
If you are one of those people that prefer to organize everything prior to the trip so that it is stress-free and are a person who just loves to arrive to new places and enjoy, I highly encourage you to reach out to Discover the World UK. It is the agency that I used for this out-of-this-world trip. After traveling to many places worldwide, I have discovered that 3 nights in a new city is enough to make the most of it, this timeframe though short, allows oneself to see all the amazing spots, without getting bored, and making for one hell of a jam-packed adventure! So without further ado, here we go!

How to get to Iceland?
If you don’t know where to fly from or in which airline, I would suggest Wowair; they have direct flights from London Gatwick to Reykjavik Keflavik International Airport. I have to say that I was there the first few days of December and the weather cooperated for us to see the much desired and breathtaking northern lights!
Where to stay in Reykjavik?
I stayed at the Hotel Arnarhvoll, which has a Scandinavian touch to it, and although it is a small hotel it feels homey and modern and has a great location as well.
5 Top things to do in Iceland
To make the most of your trip to Iceland this is what I recommend;
1.- BLUE LAGOON ♥ Get an early flight from London and arrive as early as you can to Reykjavik. That way you can catch a bus that will take you to the Blue Lagoon for a nice relaxing swim in the mineral rich waters. You can then catch another bus from here to get you close to your hotel. This place is so beautiful, it is one of the 25 wonders of the world, and even has a bar inside the thermal waters! Don’t drink too much; you wouldn’t want to forget these amazing places!
2.- GOLDEN CIRCLE CLASSIC TOURS ♥ To start the second day in Iceland, I would recommend you take The Golden Circle Classic tours. My mouth was open during the whole tour! You are taken to a UNESCO World Heritage site, and then onward to the Gullfoss (Golden Falls), which are absolutely worthwhile to see. The day doesn’t end there, as you can then visit the Geysir geothermal area, and hot springs. I had the most fun counting the minutes to see it erupt, and the coolest thing is that they are one of the most active geysers in the world. You can literally feel the static in the air and excitement building up to each eruption.
3.- NORTHERN LIGHTS ♥ On your second night you can book a tour to go see the northern lights! Make sure you don’t leave this activity until your last night, because nature can’t be predicted, and if you don’t spot them, they give you another night for free to try to see them.
This is the most exciting part of the trip and why I guess you are traveling all the way to Iceland. So I would absolutely recommend you book the tour through Superjeep.is. I swear it was one of the best and most thrilling adventures, and experiences I have ever had. It was SO much fun, and so much adrenaline driving through the roads full of ice. The tour starts later on at night, as this gives you the best chance to spot the northern lights.
Watching the northern lights, is an indescribable feeling that you HAVE to see at least once in your life! They also give you some alcohol while you wait for the northern lights and will suggest dancing to keep warm! It gets rather cold out there so make sure you dress for the occasion.
4.- GAME OF THRONES KIND OF EXPERIENCE ♥On day 3, I became part of the Night’s Watch of Game of Thrones and visited “The Wall”, this tour is called “Greater Reykjavik Sightseeing City Tour” and I got to visit Perlman, surrounding towns, Bessastadir and Hafnarfjordur’s fishing harbor. On this day, you can go Whale Watching as well; I didn’t go unfortunately as the weather didn’t collaborate with us at the time. It was freezing and windy, and the boat couldn’t depart but I can imagine it must be a wonderful experience!
5.- EXPLORE REYKJAVIK ♥Don’t forget to walk; walk, and walk, this way you get to see every spot of Reykjavik, there are so many amazing restaurants, and everything is close by the hotel if you decide to stay at the Arnarhvoll Hotel.
If you want to see nature put on the best show on earth, YOU CAN’T MISS ICELAND!
