If I didn’t convince you to try a home workout program with my last post, this one will for sure.
With SO many programs on the market, how can you choose the right one for you?? As I mentioned in Steps to Success, research before beginning the program is a major key to successfully completing a program and seeing the results.
I love extreme fitness, so of course my top recommendations for home fitness programs are extreme:
My Top 3 Recommendations
This program is GOLD! Without question this is my favourite program I have done. A 90 day MMA inspired workout that is a killer fat-burning yet FUN workout program, it’s challenging but so worth it! I have successfully completed a round of Tapout XT, Tapout Hybrid, and Tapout XT2 and would do it all again! This is a great program to build your core and develop lean muscle. Not much equipment is needed: weighted gloves, duel grip medicine ball, and resistance bands. I completed XT2 before going to Fiji, and the ab results were something to write home about, and show off on the beach! Word of advice: get good quality braided resistance bands. Things get real and bands break – must be all that muscle growth!!
Trainer: Mike Karpenko
This is probably the most popular at home program and for good reason. This program works and the food plan is complete and effective. A 90 day extreme home workout program focusing on total body conditioning and lean muscle growth through cross training. My father who was a body builder and has weight lifted for over 35 years SWEARS by this program and has completed P90X, X2, & X3 multiple times. The results are definitely fantastic! Con: this program requires a bit more equipment than most, but well worth the start up cost.
Trainer: Tony Horton
This is a favourite for a lot of people. This program is made up of high, and I mean HIGH intensity cardio and plyometric exercise, some truly tough workouts. In just 60 days, a whole body transformation happens if you follow the schedule and diet. All workouts are challenging interval training, which I love. Personally, I prefer the first two programs mentioned, but a lot of people I’ve talked to rave about Insanity AND the results are great!! A bonus, absolutely no equipment is needed!
