Take your workout OUTSIDE!
The beach, water, mountains, volcanos, and nature trails are just a few of the many amazing gifts that nature has to offer that can be used for fitness purposes.
There are SOOO many different ways to get a great workout without stepping foot in a gym. Hiking, stand up paddle boarding, running, beach circuits, swimming, and biking are a few of my favourite ways to get active outside, and enjoy our beautiful surroundings at the same time!
The mind & body benefits from working up a good sweat outside. Why should YOU ditch the gym and head outside?
6 reasons why you should make it a habit to use nature’s gym:
1. Stay Motivated
Getting active outside the gym helps your mind to stay focused. Get out of your usual routine and switch it up with an intense activity outside! I find that getting outside also helps reset my mind, and I look forward to my next gym workout more.
2. The Scenery
Different views keeps you excited about your workout. Nature has different sights, sounds, and appeals than a gym. It’s all about perspective!
3. Add Some Fun
Because working out should be fun and not a chore!!!
Nature = Happy! Being outside in the sun (helloooo vitamin D) with fresh air, surrounded by greens is beneficial to your mental health; it can boost your mood, chase away depression, and reduce stress.
5. You Can Workout for Longer
With a change of scenery and an activity that is fun, your mind doesn’t register this as a workout, and chances are you will go for much longer without getting tired/bored than you would have in the gym. Cardio especially is a lot easier and MUCH more fun outside!
6. You Will See More Results
Chances are, you aren’t watching the clock and counting down the minutes until your workout is over when you are outside loving it! This results in more calories burned, wooo!! Changing your workout also uses muscles in different ways, producing more results.
